We had the chance to hang out with Deborah and Russ who are getting married next year at Deer Creek Golf Club in Ajax.  We spent some time together and took some pictures and part two of the shoot will be added to this post after we hit another location with the couple.  Here is some shots of the two…

At the beginning of June I had the chance to hang out with a wonderful couple who I will be photographing their wedding later in August.  The rain came out for this one a little and that gave us an opportunity to sit down inside and catch up.  Here is some of the images from our shoot…

I recently had the joy of working with this couple, who I’m shooting later this year.  It was great to walk and talk with them as we strolled around the city.  It allowed me to get to know them and for them to get to know me better before the wedding.  We’ve started our “walk” at St Lawrence Market which is a iconic spot in Toronto.  We then worked our way through the financial district and ended up shooting at Scotia Plaza, another outstanding location for urban pictures.   Please see a few of many pics we took that day…

Shooting in the winter is more about the scarfs, the coats, the funky wool hats and mitts.

It’s also about snow ball fights!

It’s only funny when you see two people in love get out some anger!

Anger leads to making up.

If you find a cool spot that has some open fields as well as some shelter within the trees.  It’s really not that cold to shoot.  Walk in the snow for a bit and you will be toasty inside.

Also, it does not have to be in the countryside.  It could be downtown Toronto.  Ice Skating under the lights of Nathan Phillips Square or walking around the city as a couple and then popping into a cafe to enjoy a coffee…

What’s really cool with shooting winter shots is that you can follow up in the spring with another session.  Then when your wedding date comes you can have some images of you two as a couple through out the year.  Like we did for this couple seen above and below.

Shooting engagements in the winter is fun and some brides are dying for the snow to fall so they can call their photographer and get some shots done.   We are the same.  With that being said, we have a promo on right now for anyone wanting to do some.

Michelle + Martin who also hooked up with Doug when he was downtown this past weekend for a little Meet | Greet | Shoot It’s kind of fun to book some meetings back to back and instead of hanging out just talking over coffee is to do a little mini-shoot with them.

Doug says, “Michelle’s emails to me over the last month painted a picture of a really kind and sincere person.  After meeting Michelle and her fiance Martin this past weekend, she was nothing short of that.  These University sweethearts are the perfect match and I can’t wait to work with them again on their big day in July.  Congratulations Michelle and Martin.”
