Here is a wedding we shot there for Heather and Jim.   They held both the Ceremony & Reception at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel. The bride used a room at the hotel to get ready in, and they stayed in a incredible suite that night after using it for a small “after party” when the reception was finished. One of the great things about the Hotel is the incredible backdrops the city has to offer with regards to taking pictures. For this wedding we jumped over to High Park, which is a great place to shoot that is close by).

We had the pleasure of working with Geeta Jaipaul-Rodriguez at the Hotel. She manages the 19th floor and she took care of the ceremony & reception.  You can reach her at 416-860-5020

We also used the Hotel for the backdrop of a winter wedding. (below) The bride purchased a permit allowing us access and use of the hotel for bridal party shots and some intimate shots of the bride and groom.

We recommend that you use a room at the Royal York to get ready in. The suites are awesome, and would allow your photographer to capture both the Bride & Groom getting ready and allows you to drop outside for some pictures.

Blue Six Creative has had the opportunity to photograph a wedding at this incredible venue in the past.  One wedding was in January and the weather outside was super nice outside and we were allowed to venue out and get some shots of the bridal party an the couple alone outside the hotel and across at Union Station.  The other wedding for Heather and Jim at the Fairmont Royal York was in the summer and we also had a blast shooting this wedding.

One of the main reasons as to why we love this venue is that it’s right downtown and so close to some interesting places to take some pictures.  You have the Financial District that has some modern and old charm near CIBC Commerce Court as well as some neat buildings on the east side of Yonge Street.  You have High Park close by that is also a great spot to shoot at and you also have the waterfront and the Distillery District.

Ceremony and Reception Venue:  The Estates of Sunnybrook | Vaughan Estate | 2075 Bayview Ave Toronto, ON

The Vaughan Estate was a perfect backdrop for the wedding between Kelli O’Hearn + Alex MacDonald that was held this past Saturday on a beautiful day in May.  This estate was built in 1931 and served as the venue for their early evening ceremony and reception at this stunning location.  We started our day at the Vaughan Estate and waited for Kelli and her family to arrive to take some family photographs before the men arrived.  Here is some of the pictures that made up the day…

After the ceremony, we took some family portraits and some shots of the bride and groom on the grounds of the Vaughan Estate at Sunnybrook.

We photographed a couple of weddings here and the venue & service is awesome.  It’s great for outdoor ceremony’s and we have photographed indoor ceremonies at Eagles Nest and they were elegant and intimate.  We also have photographed a smaller afternoon ceremony and a couple  traditional evening ceremonies.  The food and service are awesome.  They take really good care of you at this venue and your guests will love it.

The venue has a great wrap around porch that is great for stepping out into the evening air at a reception and is the perfect setting for your guests to sip on some drinks, while we move around the grounds and take some pictures.

The lobby has a great fireplace and some great chairs to shoot some family photos if it’s too cold outside.

Eagles Nest has some great stairs to shoot on for Family or Bridal Party Portraits.

We love the tall grass just steps from the venue to shoot the Bride and Groom in.

The main ballroom is a great backdrop for your reception.

This venue is known for being “The Jewel in the Crown” of Burlington’s Waterfront.  It’s a restored 20th. century lakeside estate situated amist fourteen acres of natural and formal gardens that is right on the waterfront.  This makes for great outdoor ceremonies.

The mansion has 3 levels and is 11,000 square feet that has 7 fireplaces, hardwood floors as well as original features, trim and murals.  Such an intimate location for weddings.  Weddings at the mansion will give you exclusive use of the entire mansion for your day.  They can hold up to 85 people for a sit down dinner and 175 people for a cocktail reception.

Blue Six Creative has not photographed a wedding at the venue and we have toured the venue recently and would love to. If you or someone that you know is planning a wedding there, please have them contact us and we would love to see if we could offer you a discount, so we can use the backdrops  the venue offers to photograph the  wedding.

The Fermenting Cellar of the former Gooderham and Worts Distillery that was constructed in 1859 is a really cool place to hold a unique and creative wedding reception at in Downtown Toronto.   It’s location in Toronto’s Distillery District makes is a great spot to shoot before the reception around the venue using the great backdrops the Distillery District offers for wedding photography in Toronto.

This Toronto Wedding Venue offers original stone walls, 35 ft ceilings, heated concrete floors, adjacent parking, complete performance audio system and ambient venue lighting to help set the mood of the evening.

View the photo’s of past functions held at the venue.  You can see the creativity of past events with the use of some decor rentals have transformed this space into one of Toronto’s high-end Toronto Wedding Venues.

This venue is on our short list of venues that we are dying to photograph at.
