| Couple: Glynis + Jaumaul | Wedding July 2012 |

Tell us how you two started dating?

We met when we were 10 years old in elementary school. (see picture below when they were 13)

We both had a crush on each other and were very shy to talk to one another. We finally started dating four years later when we were 14 years old in grade 8. I guess you can call it “puppy love” but we both had an instant connection and we fell in love. We had such a fun and compatible relationship. When we graduated from elementary school we decided to break up because we went to different high schools . During this time apart we didn’t talk, but we still thought about each other all the time. In grade 10 I actually ended up transferring to his school due to a long commute. However, in grade 10 we were too stubborn to talk and had different groups of friends. In grade 11, we ended having gym class together and he wrote me a letter apologizing for not talking to me. We meet up the same day and got back together. Another great year went by and in grade 12 we broke up because of a misunderstanding with rumors. We didn’t talk that entire year. At our graduation he looked into my eyes when everyone threw up their hats and my tummy flipped, that was the last time i seen him. 5 years later our relationship began again when he messaged me from his brother’s MSN and we confessed our feelings for one another. We decided to meet up and talk about our lives and what we missed. The moment we saw each other our love came back and began to grow stronger then ever. From that moment on we knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together! “They always say your first love is your last, and your last love is your first”

Tell us how you got engaged?

2 years after getting back together, we decided to take a trip. We went to the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana for a relaxing vacation. The day before we left he seemed really nervous and fidgety. I thought he was excited but little did i know what was coming. When we were passing through security at the airport he was so nervous. Once we got to our hotel he was always concerned about the safety of the room and searched everything. We ended up meeting a very lovely mother and daughter from Toronto who had some common friends with me, on the plane and they ended up being our neighbors. The 4th day we were there, we decided to all go for dinner at the beach. When the 4 of us sat down a conversation about getting married came up but i didn’t think anything of it. After dinner the mother and daughter left a bit early and we slowly walked back to the resort. When we were outside the door he handed me the keys. I opened the door and the room was lit with white candles and flower petals everywhere  (the mother and daughter had our spare key and lit the candles for him before we got there). I walked in a little further and seen “will you marry me” on the bathroom mirror. I laughed and turned around and there it was a diamond ring and him on his knees. He asked me in my language and I was in tears. It was one of the happiest moments in my life. We were so happy and couldn’t believe that after 14 years of knowing each other we were going to get married.

Tell us a little on how you would like to have your wedding and your vision of it?

I’ve always dreamed of a big wedding with our family and friends. Since we are both Catholic we want our wedding in the church that we both got confirmed in, had our graduation in, and go to every Sunday for mass. We imagine a summer wedding with warm sunny weather. We want a unique venue in Toronto with all our family and friends and great food and entertainment. We truly believe our “love story” is one of a kind and that our wedding day will truly reflect that! We hope that your vote will make a difference to making our dream wedding come true…

Regards,

Sarah Wright

Personally, I know Glynis from playing soccer with her brother.

Just for the record, the guy’s “a keeper”, simply for the fact that he proposed in Konkani!

Awesome, and good luck to you both.
