Editor’s Notes: Toronto Wedding Professionals along with some great Toronto Wedding Vendors are getting together to offer a cool contest to couples across Southern Ontario where they have a chance to win some awesome prizes.

We had started dating after seeing each other at a wedding. We had known each other for a few years before seeing one another again at this wedding but never really talked and nothing ever happened. I was told by friends that he always wanted to talk and call me but never succeeded. He seemed to have a very confident personality but actually was very shy, at the end of our first date he did not feel comfortable enough being alone with me that we meet up with his friends. Which I’m sure was my test but at the same time he felt intimidated! Even though he was shy at first, our conversations were endless and we always had a great time together. I would have to say this was someone Ii truly trusted and was able to be openly honestly with. Our relationship built into something much deeper and stronger, not only did we fall in love so quickly but we become best friends. He makes me laugh, pushes me when I need to be pushed and keeps me strong. What I always admired about him was his big heart, he’s the type to do anything for his family and friends, and truly this is what I loved about him the most and still do until this day. It’s crazy but I still can’t believe this was over 6 years ago, it still feels as if we just started to date. We knew since our first date that time we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together and now we can’t wait to begin our lives together!

Tell us how you got engaged?

We had been dating for over 6 years and just like many others I still wanted to be surprised after that many years. I had a feeling the proposal was to happen on our trip to San Diego so I started go through his carryon during our flight, but I couldn’t find the ring. The day of the proposal we spent it exploring the city and were able to enjoy patio weather in mid November. On the way back to our room he blind folded me, I questioned him but I didn’t think much about it since I couldn’t find the ring!. After entering our room he walked me to the patio which was steps to the beach and as he went to open his carryon my heart stopped and I started to tear. The next thing i knew my blind fold was off and he was on his knee asking me to marry him. As I gazed at the beautiful roses, chocolate strawberries and the stars filling the sky and reflecting off the ocean, he was confused with my tears as he had to ask me again, “so is that a yes?!?! I cried even more and said YES!

Tell us a little on how you would like to have your wedding and your vision of it?

Indian weddings are usually spread over at least 4 days, this is a time for family and friends to celebrate the pre-wedding festivities and then continue the celebrations on the day of the wedding ceremony and reception. We would love to be able to celebrate our wedding in a place where we can visit many years down the road. We vision the wedding ceremony and reception to be at a unique place where we can mix our traditional culture with our modern style. We would love to be at a place where there is a beautiful garden and modern art. Niagara on the lake is where we see this all happen, it’s a place we visit all the time and the wineries and the wine are what we love the most. In the end we want this to be about celebrating and bringing together family and friends. We want everyone to have fun, eat well and enjoy every moment. We truly believe life is all about happiness, love and laughter, and we hope our guests are filled with these feeling from the time the festivities begin!
