THE DINING ROOM

Drake’s Dining Room is a luxurious space that offers a sophisticated setting for a wide variety events. Drake’s event coordinators are happy to assist you with your dinner or lunch functions every step of the way. From cocktail selection to personalized menus or host gifts, the Drake events team will polish every detail. Additional services such as valet, guess transportation and décor can be arranged by your coordinator, who has ongoing relationships with Toronto’s leading vendors. THE UNDERGROUND

The Drake Underground is one of the most flexible and original venues in Toronto. Our two tiered, fully equipped event space is located on the lower level of the Hotel. This almost hidden gem easily transforms to suit the stature and style of any event. The Underground has played host to some of the cities most memorable live performances, launches, weddings, presentations and cocktail parties. With sophisticated audio-visual equipment including digital projectors, screens and extensive sound and lighting equipment, the Underground is extraordinarily diverse.

THE LOUNGE

Drake’s signature room re-introduces a bygone era, the Mid Century lounge experience; when cocktailing was dignified, music was sultry, thoughtful furnishing was essential and sublime food was the fuel in Gotham’s tank.

Capture this exclusivity and glamour in Drake’s newly renovated main floor Lounge, the perfect venue for a decadent strolling-style diner party or an elegant cocktail soirée. With nightly entertainment and exquisite furnishings, the Lounge appeals to a wide variety of events. Overlooking Queen Street West, the Lounge is a destination unto itself.

Sky Yard

When the celebration calls for a party in the sun or cocktails under the stars, Drake’s breezy Palm Springs influenced Sky Yard and inspired choice. It’s the city’s secret hot-spot. Our breezy island styled open-air rooftop playground is where Drake design meets Mother Nature. Your party can contemplate the moon while sampling Drake’s deliciously imaginative cocktails and world class cuisine. A new feature of the Sky Yard, the playful Taco + Tequila Shack reinforces why our rooftop space is an innovative paradise for the urban stargazer or nocturnal adventurer.

Since the Drake is a Hotel, it offers you a perfect backdrop for getting ready pictures.  It also allows you to take some really cool shots of you two as a couple.

Notes: If any wedding planners have attended a function at The Drake Hotel, please email any notes and we will add them into this post.  Please tell us what works and doesn’t work with the venue.  We will post them in this section of the post and list your details + contacts so brides can contact you since you have experience at this venue.  We are just looking for honest feedback.

Photographers Notes: We have not photographed a wedding at this venue.  But what we love about it is the location in the city and all the backdrops close by to get some cool urban photos of the bridal party and just the couple alone.  Inside is awesome and provides some unique rooms and little hiding spots for intimate pictures for just the couple.  The Hotel rooms are perfect for shooting before the ceremony and after if you wanted to shoot some cool shots of the couple together.  We would recommend you getting a room since it will provide you a place to get ready and also provide you a great place to end your evening.  We just love the “New York” feel to this venue.

We love old buildings that tell stories and have stories about them inside. Paletta Lakefront Park & Mansion is one of them.

This venue is known for being “The Jewel in the Crown” of Burlington’s Waterfront. It’s a restored 20th. century lakeside estate situated amidst fourteen acres of natural and formal gardens that is right on the waterfront. This makes for great outdoor ceremonies.

The mansion has 3 levels and is 11,000 square feet that has 7 fireplaces, hardwood floors as well as original features, trim and murals. Such an intimate location for weddings. Weddings at the mansion will give you exclusive use of the entire mansion for your day. They can hold up to 85 people for a sit down dinner and 175 people for a cocktail reception.

Blue Six Creative has not photographed a wedding at the venue. We have toured the venue recently and would love to. If you or someone that you know is planning a wedding there, please have them contact us and we would love to see if we could offer you a discount, so we can use the backdrops the venue offers to photograph the wedding.

We wish the venue had a proper website, so you can view more images to fully understand what the venue offers. Hopefully we have the opportunity to photograph a wedding there and we can come back and add to this post the images from the venue and day.

Weddings At Eagles Nest Golf Club

Eagles Nest Golf Course is a great venue just north of the city to hold your wedding and reception at. We highly recommend it.

We photographed a couple of weddings here and the venue & service is awesome. It’s great for outdoor ceremony’s and we have photographed indoor ceremonies at Eagles Nest and they were elegant and intimate. We also have photographed a smaller afternoon ceremony and a couple traditional evening ceremonies. The food and service are awesome. They take really good care of you at this venue and your guests will love it.

The venue has a great wrap around porch that is great for stepping out into the evening air at a reception and is the perfect setting for your guests to sip on some drinks, while we move around the grounds and take some pictures.

Graydon Hall Manor is situated within the city of Toronto, but you feel out of the city when you visit the property. Having a wedding at Graydon Hall Manor is a great backdrop that feels like a grand English country manor. This venue offers you romance, elegance and luxury. The venue offers a 160 foot-long stone terrace, overlooking cascading fountains and formal gardens that make photographing an outdoor or indoor wedding easy, since everything is in one place and the backdrops are incredible.

Blue Six Creative has had the opportunity to photograph a wedding at this incredible venue in the past. The wedding that we photographed was on a chilly day in November for Carolina & Michael’s Wedding You must click the link and check out the photo’s from the day from our point of view.

This wedding was later in the day and we had to shoot all the pictures inside due to the cold and also the night approached us quickly. This wedding was very romantic and the venue added to this. We had such a great time there, we hope to have the opportunity to come back soon and photograph a wedding. Couples ask us early in the process of planning a wedding for ideas of unique venues that is different than the normal places to hold a reception. One of them is Bymark located downtown Toronto in the Financial District.

Bymark has a really cool atmosphere and vibe to it from the moment you walk in. The Food and Service is excellent and it makes for a unique place to hold a private wedding reception in Downtown Toronto in the core of the city. Outside offers neat backdrops to take some creative wedding photography of the couple using the backdrops of the courtyard of the TD Centre. We have not photographed a wedding at Bymark, and we would love to speak with any couples that are considering using Bymark or have booked it as their perfect spot to hold a unique wedding reception in Toronto at this cool venue in the city.

Bymark offers three private rooms that seat up to 14 guests each. Sound proof panels dividing the rooms may be opened for a combined capacity of up to 45 guests. They can customize menus according to your wishes.
